“That’s one of the central problems of history, isn’t it, sir? The question of subjective versus objective interpretation, the fact that we need to know the history of the historian in order to understand the version that is being put in front of us?”
The Sense of an Ending // Julian Barnes

Recent microblog: (09.12.26) Today, I went to a wildlife preserve beach. I'd missed the feeling of the hot wind blowing over me, the sand falling out from under me as the tide goes out. There were shorebirds of all sorts, turtles and toirtoses, and some very(very) small fish.

In lieu of an about me..?

call me Safranek (sah-frah-nik).
this website is extremely unfinished. It is not optimized for anything, and probably not too well functioning on anything other than a laptop or desktop.

I code this website by hand, from scratch, and self-taught. It may seem bare-bones, but this is just how I like it, I never could keep up with a flashy or cute website, as much as I love them. I hope others can appreciate its simplicity.

08.12.26:

Wednesday
It has been horribly humid recently. School has started again and while humidity doesn't impact me unless I'm outside, it's so bad that even the walk from my car feels like moving through a swamp. I can't wait for winter.
I've been back into reading again, summer tends to bring a slump. Now that I'm in school I can read during classes again, since I have no time outside of school for it. Thanks to this, I'm speeding through them. I started 'The Passenger' two days ago and am a quarter of the way through reading in classes alone. I plan to start the next book by the end of the month. It'll either be Dune or John Krakauers 'Into the Wild'. I wanna say it'll be into the wild though since it's shorter and I dont know that I have the patience for Dune as of now. Not to mention 'Into the Wild' has been lingering in my head since I began reading about New York's 'Neo-Luddites' (and finding myself relating to it), many of which cite 'Into the Wild' as a book that portrays this 'anarcho-primitivism' well. (also just a general good read).
I've been listening to a lot of Underworld recently. Working late, It's my favorite to listen to on the long drive home. I've mostly been listening to the album '100 Days Off'. I highly recommend Mo Move, Twist, Two Months Off (my personal favorite), and Sola Sistim.

"Well, skin is near the top and I love the textures of a factory.
I love smoke in the sky,
and I love oil in the dirt.
And I like wire,
and I like broken glass,
and I like sweat
and pistols.
I like a little bit of blood and saliva on concrete.
I like cars and exhaust
and, I don't know, ten million different things".
- David Lynch
